Danie’s Gaming Backlog

It’s no secret that I have a hard time following all the way through with a game, but I don’t think I’m the only one.  Go on.  Admit it.  You’ve been guilty of this same offense at least once (it’s really more like a dozen, but I’ll let you slide).  You’ve started playing a game and the new hotness comes out and you just can’t resist jumping on the hype bandwagon.  Before you know it, your poor old game gets left in the dust.  When you remember that you have a universe waiting to be explored, you are suddenly intimidated by the process of diving back in.  Will you remember what you had done in the tens of hours you’ve already put into it?  Should you just start a fresh game?  Will the game be as kind as it was before you left it for the newer model?

Well, I’m letting you into my sordid little world of failing to play games through in a timely manner.  I’m revising my 2018 Gaming Resolution to not only play more games but to also play them through before moving on to the next newcomer.  (I’ve already failed several times.  Be kind…)

Finished

  • The Fallout Rabbit Hole
    • I was absolutely addicted to this game.  I was up every night, begging it to take me from my life problems.  When life became worse, video games disappeared for a while.  This was the casualty.  To get hyped for the upcoming release of Fallout 76 and possibly the B.E.T.A., I’m determined to finally finish.
      • Fallout 4 – started December 2015
      • Fallout 76 – release date 11/14/18
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division Rabbit Hole
    • This was such a fun game to not only play solo but also with friends.  In an effort to reacquaint myself with the game, I’m diving into The Division to grab all the collectibles and miscellaneous things that I missed on my original playthrough.
      • Tom Clancy’s The Division
      • $$ Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
  • The Final Fantasy Rabbit Hole
    • The backstory on why this is on my list is that I’ve only really played through Final Fantasy X.  I dabbled with X-2, XI, and XIII, all of which made me sad with their story content or game mechanics.  These four were recommended to me and Steam just happened to have a sale that same week, so I picked these bad boys up.  I will only be playing one title at a time with these and generally as a secondary to whatever is in/on my PS4.
      • Final Fantasy IV – started 5/29/18
      • Final Fantasy V
      • Final Fantasy VI
      • Final Fantasy VII
  • The Tales Series Rabbit Hole
    • This is the second Tales game I’ve played, Vesperia being my first.  I think Persona 5 is the game that overtook this one.  I really need to get back in and figure out what happens to Velvet…
      • Tales of Zestria
      • Tales of Berseria – started February 2017
  • The Yakuza Rabbit Hole
    • Of course, there’s a Yakuza rabbit hole because why wouldn’t there be?
      • Yakuza 0completed the main story, but wanted to go back for the sides
      • Yakuza 6
      • $$ Yakuza Kiwami
      • Yakuza Kiwami 2 – watching Matt play via Twitch
  • Ni no Kuni II
  • Life is Strange
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 – release date 1/29/19
  • The Danganronpa Rabbit Hole
    • I played the demo for DRV3 and I’m hooked.
      • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
      • Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
      • Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
      • Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
  • Titanfall 2
  • The Walking Dead Telltale Rabbit Hole
    • Season 1
    • Michonne
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
